About Francis Uka
Francis Uka is a seasoned broadcast journalist, human resources professional, an author, an SDG-focused storyteller, and a fast-rising real estate professional passionate about shaping Africa’s urban future through sustainable development.
With over a decade of experience in media, Francis has covered stories that unpack the heartbeat of African communities, from business to governance to grassroots innovations. Today, he brings that same investigative depth and public interest lens into the world of real estate, where he champions the integration of climate-conscious practices, ethical development, and profitable sustainability.
He is the Founder of Green Africa Realty Blog, a platform at the intersection of real estate and climate action — created to amplify eco-smart housing ideas, inspire policy innovation, and support the SDG agenda across Africa and beyond.
Francis currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at SET Realty and is a Director at Mavrik City Properties, both of which are pioneering more responsible and inclusive real estate models. He is also a fellow of the AI in Journalism Program with the Center for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) and a member of several media, climate, and business networks.
Driven by vision, values, and a commitment to impact, Francis Uka believes Africa’s urban growth must be smart, inclusive, and sustainable and that storytelling remains a powerful tool to make that happen
